Institutional Accreditation
Maryville University is a private, nonprofit university that proudly holds accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), an accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The HLC is an institutional accreditation agency that accredits degree-granting colleges and universities that are based in the United States. For more than a century, the HLC has supported its mission to “Advance the common good through quality assurance of higher education as the leader in equitable, transformative and trusted accreditation in the service of students and member institutions.”
Maryville has maintained accreditation from the HLC since 1941, and this status was most recently reaffirmed in 2015. Maryville is preparing for its next reaffirmation of accreditation, which occurs in 2024-2025.
